Well here is my two pence worth.

Everyone is throwing away hundreds of pounds worth of old SLR cameras and going digital.
These old cameras have amazing optics, automatic zoom, speed settings etc.

My idea is to replace the old 35 film with a little electronic box.
It could automatically adjust the  "film" speed, just as film cartridge do.
The sensor would fit into the camera so as to get the best focused image from the lens.
If this is tricky to focus it could even be fitted by a specialist shop.

Once setup all you have to do is take as many photos as you want.
The new internal module would have a slot for an SD card and a USB connector.
It would then be a simple matter of opening the camera back and connecting to your PC via USB, or removing the SD card, to transfer your digital photos.

As there is plenty of room inside a SLR camera this internal "film" module could even have WiFi access, thus connecting the camera to your PC, tablet or mobile phone.

There would be a huge market for these retrofit 35mm film to digital camera modules.
Loads of people prefer the feel and optical quality of their upmarket 35mm SLR, but have stuck them in the loft to be replaced by an optically inferior digital camera. This option would have them flocking to get their old cameras "digitised". And think of how much money the charity shops will get for all their donated old cameras.

WIN WIN WIN.

If anyone actually develops this and makes a fortune.
Don't forget me!
Any donations gratefully accepted.
